Supported Documents

Flonk automatically reads identity documents from 186 countries and territories. Three document types are accepted:

Passport
ID card (national identity card)
Driver's license

For 158 of these countries all three types are supported. For the rest, the table below shows which ones are.

What "supported" means

A supported document is recognised automatically: Flonk detects the document type and issuing country, reads the fields (name, date of birth, document number, expiry) and the machine-readable zone where the document has one, and matches the portrait to the selfie.

The person does not need to pick a country first. They choose the document type, take the photos, and Flonk works out the rest.

A supported document can still fail a verification: for example, when the photo is blurry or cropped, the document has expired, or the selfie does not match. See Troubleshooting.
